The idea for this "Supernaturally Dysfunctional" book began over thirty years ago. It actually started before I was even born, if I were to be completely honest with you. As many stories do, mine originated with an interestingly bizarre family tree, nestled in the hills of a small backwater-type town. A tree heavily laden with outrageous, larger than life characters as well as meek and earnest personalities. Each and every one had a specific and unique story to tell, if only given the chance.
The main focus throughout this entire book is to give hope, encouragement, and strength for its readers to be able to successfully fight and win every spiritual battle being faced. As for its author, well, it is simply an unconventional love letter to the Lord.
Yes, the title "Supernaturally Dysfunctional" can often have extremely negative connotations, but I just couldn't shake the feeling that it fit my project perfectly. If you've already perused the first chapter, then you know that dysfunction itself isn't the worst problem to have. I mean its very definition makes it sound as if a dysfunctional individual could merely be nonconforming to what society deems as normal behavior. Let the record show that most successful people in the world became that way from mostly non-conventional methods. To put it simply, you don't stand out in the world if you always try to blend in to it. Besides all of that, Debbie Reynolds once stated beautifully that "being normal is vastly overrated," while portraying Aggie Cromwell in Disney's "Halloweentown" movie. I whole-heartedly agree with Debbie.
Upon receiving countless advice from other authors, I zoned in on the basics; write what you know and write the way you speak. Obviously, that's exactly what I did. No large words, or super authoritative pretenses. Just simplistic short chapters that are hopefully easy to read and understand. That being said, I believe that everyone has a special story to tell and that any one of you reading mine can most assuredly write a book of your own. You could change a life, heal a hurt and make a difference in the life of someone you may not even know yet. All you have to do is begin. If God put it in your heart, then He has already anointed you for it. Take it from one who knows. It's much easier to go with God's flow while favor is on the project, than to put it off for years and lose its anointing.
As you read the book, you will hopefully find that God uses cracked pots. He has an amazing sense of humor and loves to show up in wondrous and unexpected ways. I mean, if he can make a donkey speak to get the point across (Numbers 22:21-39), there has just got to be hope for the rest of us, right? This makes perfect sense to me, as he made us all uniquely messy and different from one another. How boring life would be if we were all the same, looked the same, behaved the same, and thought the same.
Thank you for coming alongside me on this journey. I pray God continues to bless you with divine favor and wonder in all that He has created. For you are "fearfully and wonderfully made." (Psalm 139:14)
*Dear Heavenly Father, please bless the reader of this entry today. Thank you that you use cracked pots and that you have uniquely made us all in your beautiful image. Help us to remember that it's ok to be ourselves, stand out a little and refuse to be normal. Thank you for reminding us that we are to be the "salt of the earth" according to Matthew 5:13. We thank you for divine favor and protection as we go about our daily activities. We love you Lord. In Jesus' name we pray. Amen*

Love this so much! Not only is this encouraging for me to pursue my goals and aspirations, but gives me such great insight to this wonderful book as well. Loved the prayer ❤️
I applaud the author for the courage, perseverance, and God inspired wisdom to write this book using her own family examples which will teach and inspire others as they confront and overcome dysfunction in their own lives.
