Wholehearted

“The truth is that no one knows why bad or unspeakable things happen to good people. Ministers are trained to tell us that it is because we live in a fallen world. Well, that is true enough. But it certainly doesn’t lend much help in the mending of a broken or wounded heart.” Chapter 13 excerpt from “SUPERNATURALLY DYSFUNCTIONAL.”

Chapter 13 tells the tale of a family who live the epitome of a spirit-filled, faithful, God-loving kind of life. They have lived it so well that God himself showed up and carried them through the worst of times. He's good like that. I have no doubt that they clung to Him every single step of the way. They live the "Wholehearted" life, and you can too.

The battles rage on, don't they? There are days when we wonder how we'll ever even make it through the storms of life. The truth is we can't. Not on our own.

The band, Extreme, says it best in their song, Hole Hearted: "There's a hole in my heart that can only be filled by you." Most likely, the intended recipient for the song's lyrics would be a girl. My interpretation is slightly different.

We are all born with a supernatural "hole" in our heart that many of us spend our lifetimes trying to fill with unimportant, worldy things. Things that do us absolutely no earthly good whatsoever. The things we look to fill said hole rarely leave positive lasting results, making us try even harder to fill it up.

I can totally help you with this one, if you'd like. We are God's creation, His design. He made us with that little hole in our hearts with the sole intention that we would ask Him to fill it for us. Yes, it's completely rocket science.

Did you notice the picture at the top of this blog post? Here you see two of my most favorite people in the entire world, my dad and my daughter. I love them both more than air! It's one of my all-time most treasured pictures. Dad fishing with his granddaughter. Pretty awesome. Though I love them with all of my heart, they can NOT fill the hole in my heart, nor would they even want the job. Sometimes, we depend on someone to fill that hole, and we make it their job to keep us happy or to always make us feel wanted, etc. That's no way to live. Sounds exhausting to me.

Since it was God's design to leave that hole to be filled, He's more than up for the task to be our hole-filler. He wants you "wholehearted." All you have to do is ask.

If you don't know Jesus as your Lord and Savior, I'd love to pray with you. Are you ready?

**Dear Jesus, please forgive me for all of my sins, both known and unknown, as I forgive everyone who has ever hurt me or my family. I believe you died for my sins, Lord, and I thank you for loving me that much. Please come into my heart today, Jesus. From this day forward I want YOU to be the Lord of my life. In your holy name I pray, Amen.**

WELCOME TO THE FAMILY! May God continue to bless, encourage, and love you as you seek Him daily. May He give you wisdom, protection and divine health from this day forward. (May He continually bless your little booties off and never cease to surprise you)
